Fundraising - Albion in the Community

Much of our work is only possible because of donations or people fundraising. The money we make through fundraising helps pay for our disability football programme - helping hundreds of people throughout Sussex who have a disability to play regular football - and many other projects and sessions in the local area.

Organise your own event:

One way to help us is by organising a fundraising event, like a bake sale, a quiz night, a charity football match or a coffee morning.

Our fundraising team is on hand to provide all the support you need – including our fundraising guide which is full of ideas for events and fun tips on fundraising.

We can also help by supplying a range of support materials, including sponsorship forms and collection tins.

Just get in touch to discuss your ideas and how we can help by emailing: or calling 01273 878246.

Take part in a fundraising challenge:

Always fancied running a marathon? Like the idea of cycling from Brighton to a major European city? We run a series of challenge events throughout the year and as a charity we benefit from guaranteed reduced price places on a number of high-demand events, including the Brighton Marathon, Brighton and Hove Triathlon and the Warrior Run – a 7k obstacles race known as the UK’s muddiest fundraising event.

Challenges don’t have to be marathon races or 100-mile bike rides. You could shave your head, stay silent for an entire day or give up social media for a week – basically anything you could convince people to sponsor you for.

If you would like to register for an event, or to find out what places we have available, email: or call 01273 878246.

If you have already secured a place on a challenge event and would like to raise money for us, email us and we can provide you with support ahead of the event.

Fundraise at work:

There are many ways in which you can fundraise for us at work. You could encourage colleagues to wear a football shirt to work on a certain day in return for a donation; bake cakes and sell slices to work friends; or recruit co-workers to take up a team challenge, like taking part in the Warrior Run or a quiz night.

One of the best ways you can help us at work is by encouraging your company to select us as their charity of the year. We have an information pack available to anyone who would like to nominate us as their charity of the year which tells you and your co-workers all about the work we do in Sussex and how your support would help the charity. There is also a range of ways we can help businesses that make us their chosen charity, including providing health MOTs to staff or running NCFE accredited disability awareness training courses.

Fundraise at school:

We work with schools across Sussex, helping young people improve their numeracy and literacy with fun, football-themed sessions. One way to help us is by encouraging your child’s school to hold a fundraising event for us. Non school uniform days are a brilliant way to help us raise money for our disability football sessions and in turn help hundreds of young people who have a disability to play football. Sponsored silences; penalty shoot-out competitions; and cake sales are all fun ways to encourage young people to raise money for charity.
