Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety: Interested in working as a matchday steward at Brighton & Hove Albion FC home games? Searching for a challenging and rewarding new career? This course could be just the thing you are looking for. Open to anyone aged 18 or over, this course will teach you a wide range of new skills, including how to help manage conflict, deal with accidents and emergencies and prepare venues for large-scale events. It is the perfect way to provide practical support to Brighton & Hove Albion, earn money and help the club’s fans enjoy matches in a safe and welcoming environment.
Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health: Ideal for anyone wanting to improve their own physical health and wellbeing at the same time as understanding current theories behind nutrition advice, our course encourages learners to identify and analyse the positive effects of exercise and develop a better knowledge of nutrition. By the end of the course, participants will be able to plan, prepare and implement their own exercise and nutrition plan.
Access to Community Sports and Coaching Programme: This delivery model will be aimed at NEET’S (16-18) to give beneficiaries the chance to progress onto volunteering, coaching, apprenticeships or a full time BTEC programme which are all offered by Albion in the Community (AITC). This tailor made model will give the beneficiaries a wide range of qualifications which they can then use to pursue a particular career pathway.
Employability Development Programme: This is an employability based programme with the option of a community volunteering qualification embedded within it. This delivery model will be aimed at NEET’S (16-18) and give beneficiaries the chance to progress onto volunteering, apprenticeships or a full time BTEC programme which are all extension and progression pathways offered by AITC.
Level 1/2 Certificate in Employability Skills: A practical course to help people find employment, change careers or cope with redundancy.
It’s designed for a wide variety of learners, including:
- People with special needs, learning difficulties or particular learning requirements.
- Full-time and part-time students.
- Long-term unemployed.
- Pre-16 students in compulsory education.
Participants learn to understand motivation, how to keep improving, how to present information, set targets, manage their time and take part in projects. Vital skills for maintaining employment – how to operate efficiently and effectively in the workplace, business and customer awareness, problem solving in the workplace, how to work in a team, how to follow instructions and understand your customers.
Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing: Interested in working in the exercise and fitness industry? Perhaps you would like to be a gym instructor? This qualification course provides potential employers with evidence of an individual’s competence in fitness instructing. It also enables the learner to gain access to the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 2. The course includes learning how to support clients taking part in exercise and physical activity, outlining the principles of exercise, fitness and health and advice on how to plan gym-based exercise.
Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training: For anyone who would like to work as a personal trainer. Completion of the course allows participants to access the Register of Exercise Professionals as a personal trainer. The course includes units on designing programmes for clients, delivering personal training sessions and applying the principles of nutrition to physical activity.
Level 1 Award Sports Leadership: Our nationally-accredited course provides learners with the basic skills and experience required to lead a simple sports activity for a small group. The course involves practical work and units include sessions that focus on developing leadership skills, fair play in sport and the role of officials.
Get Ready to Work: Is a two day programme aimed at the local unemployed community. Delivered over two days participants will take part in workshops, groups sessions, have support from mentors and receive presentations to help build their confidence and improve their employability. Presentations cover topics such as CV writing, interview technique and the importance of social media privacy.
On completion, participants will have clear pathways in place to help them find potential employment opportunities, apprenticeships or further learning.
