Staff at Sawyer and Co. Sales and Lettings are taking on the UK’s muddiest obstacle course to raise money for Albion in the Community (AITC).
With offices in Brighton, Hove and Portslade, 22 colleagues have signed up to take part in the Warrior Run in Albourne this weekend (2 October).
Chris Sawyer, director at Sawyer and Co., decided to do something for the charity after AITC lent his company football team a kit ahead of a tournament at the American Express Community Stadium. He explained: “After the match I met with AITC and was made more aware of the fantastic work that the charity does.
“I agreed there and then that we would support AITC in one of the charity’s fundraising events and signed up for the Warrior Run.
“We circulated details of the event within the company and everyone bought into the idea, both for helping a fantastic cause and also the fun we felt the team would have in completing the event.”
But will they still think it is fun when they are a few kilometres into the challenge and covered in mud?
“We’re looking forward to it,” said Mr Sawyer. “Well, almost all of us are – some may have left it a little late to start thinking about their training.
“I’m sure the team will help everyone get round, they are not the type to leave a man behind.”
The money raised by Sawyer and Co. will help fund AITC’s disability football sessions and other projects throughout Sussex.
