Breakfast Club

Less than 20% of children aged five-15 meet the recommended daily guidelines of one hour of physical activity every day. Here at Albion in the Community we are committed to working with partners to develop programmes that help pupils across Sussex be as happy and as healthy as they can be.

We have piloted a small number of Breakfast Clubs to help pupils ‘start the day the Albion way’ with a healthy and nutritious breakfast as well as taking part in fun games and activities. We have had particular success so far with pupils eligible for pupil premium funding, encouraging them to be in school and ready to learn when the bell goes.

Zip Zap

Zip Zap is our after school health club, which we currently deliver in a host of primary schools across Brighton and Hove. It is supported by school assemblies and activities that promote healthy living.

The programme is run in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council and the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership and sees pupils at Key Stage One taking part in fun sessions, trying new activities and eating new fruit and vegetables every week.

Parents are encouraged to get involved with family challenge sessions and the overall aim is to help pupils become more physically active and adopt healthier eating habits.

Zip Zap – Make a Change

Zip Zap – Make a Change is a health programme available to Key Stage Two pupils and we currently deliver the project in 15 schools across Brighton and Hove.

Run in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council and the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership, Make a Change is a practical, curriculum-based programme designed to encourage pupils to be more active and eat more healthily.
